I love guava, actually my whole family loves it. I love to just eat the fruit raw. Its scent is very refreshing and tropical, though I'm not a big fan of guava smoothie (i think guava doesn't make good smoothie b/c it is sandy when blent) I generally love guava flavored drinks and food. For those of you in SoCal, probably have heard about King Hawaiian's bakery and their guava flavored cake, and their paradise cake....yummmmmy.
Work has been crazy this past couple weeks. Work through lunch, come in early leave late like 9-10pm, weekends, etc....pulling 60+ work week for the past 2 weeks. Funny thing is the project is cutting people because management decides the work is ramping down and there's no justification for keeping the personnels around - so they've been trimming every month. If people are consistently pulling 60+ work week, that means the work is *not* ramping down and that we need to keep enough personnels around to support it - if you reduce a 6 person team to a 4 person team and those 4 are pulling OTs, then THAT is your justification/proof for the need to keep those other heads around, don't ya think? Why is it so obvious to you and me, but not to some up high manager?
On the bright side...it looks like I just give myself an instant 50% raise ? :lol ....um...just for this paycheck though.
This is my post for Things On Tuesday. I thought "tuesday is too early in the week to recap what's negative and leading to what's positive". Don't you think? Usually I'm pretty whiny, haha, so ofcourse my list of vents are usually longer than rants. But this week, actually has started out pretty good, I actually have a hard time thinking of what's the sucky things that happened (well, unless we start our week at previous Wednesday, then oh yeah, I definitely have a few to complain about).
So lets see, negatives....not much besides the fact that my car "drank" a whole tank of gas last week that required me to refill a $68 ($3.57/gallon for regular unleaded is ker-ra-zy, I still remember when it was less than $2/gallon).
On a positive side, things started to shed some light for me this week (last few weeks were somewhat discouraging, lots of opportunitites for me to piss off). First, the insurance I signed up for, which was rejected a couple months ago, finally goes through and my coverage is officially confirmed. And then Monday night, first time I tried to stay up midnight to 2am to catch the London Forex market, guess what? I made 170 pips (not much dollar-wise since I only practice on a micro account, but considering the accomplishment, it makes me pretty happy and feel encouraged about this whole Forex learning experience). 170 pips in one night, Yoohoo!!! If I can keep this going, I'll start to gain enough confidence to eventually move to a mini account. Will have to save the standard account for later - when I'm reallly reallly good and consistant (and ofcourse has the dough to fund that account) :-P
My Mondays have been mostly slow and unmotivated. After the weekend, its a drag having to get up and getting ready to go to work, knowing it's going to be a whole week of work ahead *sigh*
I totally love and enjoy playing with my baby dog Weiwei, any day any time. But unfortunately that doesn't put a paycheck in my bank every two weeks. Boo.
What's your favorite thing about being sick?
Get a day off from work
I wanted a strawberry filled white chocolate - but it looks like I'm getting a brandy filled dark choco right now. Though it tastes somewhat bitter and gets me a bit on the tipsy side, it's still comforting to know its a nice gourmet piece of chocolate...just different....at the end it is still a sweet taste.
